Lucy Reid Fluker

Birth Date: 1879-12-03
Deceased Date: 1908-06-07
Obituary:
Washington has never been more shocked at the news of a death than when it was announced on Sunday that Miss Lucy Fluker had died in Atlanta, where she had been taken just a week before for treatment.

She was one of the finest characters who ever grew up to womanhood in Washington and was universally loved and admired by all who knew her. She was refined, cultured and accomplished, and one of the highest types of that womanliness that is so elevating to all those at home and abroad, among whom she moved throughout her life. In the home circle her splendid chaterteristics shone out in their greatest liveliness, and she leaves a memory the beauty and sweetness of which will never be effaced.

Her loss to her father's family and to the entire community is one beyond words to express, and is one of those lessons which we cannot learn here, but in the beautiful beyond we will understand why the Great Jehovah binds us to the ever lasting life with such ties as these.

She was the daughter of Mr. W.T. Fluker, and was twenty eight years of age. The remains were brought to Washington Sunday night and the touching and impressive funeral services took place Monday afternoon.
